The WHO Universal Eye Health: a Global Action Plan 2014-2019 endorsed by WHO Member States was designed to direct eye care planners, policy makers and international partners to progress with strengthening countries’ health systems so that comprehensive eye care services could be provided. Practical use of the Action plan and experience in implementing the WHO Eye Care Service Assessment Tool (ESCAT), and health system approach will be presented and discussed.
Objectives:
- To provide guidance on the practical use of the WHO Universal Eye Health: a Global Action Plan 2014-2019 and the WHO Eye Care Service Assessment Tool
- To share practical examples of building international collaboration in eye care
- To advice on best practices in the development of eye care teams
- To discuss experiences in developing eye care services in countries
- To help the participants understand how can each join and contribute
